DESCRIPTION:Whether you are you a competitive athlete or someone who is thinking about taking on their first road race have you ever considered RUNNING FOR A REASON and picking up the baton for Action Cancer? \nRunning on behalf of Action Cancer will bring with it a whole host of personal benefits from that sense of achievement through completing it or beating you personal best. But ultimately\, running for Action Cancer helps to raise vital funds that will enable us to continue providing our vital support services.  Not only that\, knowing you are running for a good cause could just be the motivation that will help with training and may provide you with that necessary boost to push you across the finish line! \n \nAhead of your chosen race Action Cancer will provide you with a T-shirt and fundraising pack with all the necessary fundraising materials\, such as sponsor forms and collection boxes. See parts of the world you’ve only dreamed of? \nWe are excited to share some incredible opportunities for you to challenge yourself while making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by cancer. We invite you to join one our Open Challenges and become a vital part of our mission to promote cancer prevention\, provide support\, and fund detection services. \nOver the course of 2025 we are promoting but not limited to a huge variety of challenges including \nLondon to Paris cycle – Tour de France (23rd-27th July 2025) \nNorthern Lights Trek (5th-9th March 2025) \nUK 3 Peaks Trek  (16th-18th May 2025) \nEach event has its own registration fee and minimum sponsorship amount.  To find out more about each events itinerary and sponsorship please contact us at trek@actioncancer.org. \nDon’t see one you fancy\, or have your own one in mind? SUMMARY:Group Acupuncture: Tackling Hot Flushes\, anxiety and sleep problems
DESCRIPTION:We are starting to offer group acupuncture sessions specifically targeting people experiencing hot flushes and night sweats resulting from cancer surgery/hormone treatment.   Participants will be treated in a small group setting (up to 4 people) using acupuncture needles.  Participants would individually be assessed by the acupuncturist through phone consultation before joining the group setting and would be expected to attend 5 consecutive dates for the treatment.  Whilst this service is particularly targeting symptoms of hot flushes and night sweats\, acupuncture is also beneficial in reducing anxiety\, aiding relaxation\, and improving sleep. \nDeliver times: \n\nTuesday afternoons\, Action Cancer House\, 20 Windsor Ave\, Belfast (acupuncture on arms and legs)\nWednesday/Thursday\, Derry/Londonderry (ear acupuncture only)\nWednesday\, Ulster Hospital (ear acupuncture only)\nFriday\, Newry (ear acupuncture only)\nFriday\, Coleraine (ear acupuncture only)\n\nIf you would be interested in availing of this service please complete the following intake form. \n \n
