DESCRIPTION:Walk with her…Walk to remember her. \nThe Action Cancer Mother’s Day Walk is a fundraising event co-ordinated by the Lurgan Action Cancer Community Group. This 5K walk will take place within the beautiful surrounds of Lurgan Park on Saturday 9th March and is a both an uplifting and tranquil experience. This is also a dog friendly walk so we encourage you to bring all members of your family. \nRegistration: £10 per adult (children under 16 free) \nPLEASE NOTE: Online registration will end at 5pm on 7th March. You can of course register on the day of the walk from 11.30 am \nCourtesy of Country Kitchen there will be refreshments provided for walkers once the walk is completed. \nThe walk starts at 12pm but people can register on the day from 11.30am. \nAll monies raised will go towards helping Action Cancer continue to offer its many services some of which take place locally through visits from Big Bus visits to Lurgan and the surrounding area and the complementary therapy services for children and adults affected by cancer that take place in Zion House in the town. \n \nSupporting the Walk once again is Caroline Pinion\, mum\, sister\, daughter; “I wanted to be a part of the Mother’s Day Walk last year as it marked the 5th anniversary of my own mum’s passing and therefore is a particularly poignant time of the year for me. For people in a similar situation Mother’s Day can be a time of dread and sadness but I want it to be a time for remembrance\, for celebrating the extraordinary person my mum was. My brother and aunt also took part so that made it a real family affair as we don’t always have the opportunity to get together as we all live in different places. SUMMARY:Group Acupuncture: Tackling Hot Flushes\, anxiety and sleep problems
DESCRIPTION:We are starting to offer group acupuncture sessions specifically targeting people experiencing hot flushes and night sweats resulting from cancer surgery/hormone treatment.   Participants will be treated in a small group setting (up to 4 people) using acupuncture needles.  Participants would individually be assessed by the acupuncturist through phone consultation before joining the group setting and would be expected to attend 5 consecutive dates for the treatment.  Whilst this service is particularly targeting symptoms of hot flushes and night sweats\, acupuncture is also beneficial in reducing anxiety\, aiding relaxation\, and improving sleep. \nDeliver times: \n\nTuesday afternoons\, Action Cancer House\, 20 Windsor Ave\, Belfast (acupuncture on arms and legs)\nWednesday/Thursday\, Derry/Londonderry (ear acupuncture only)\nWednesday\, Ulster Hospital (ear acupuncture only)\nFriday\, Newry (ear acupuncture only)\nFriday\, Coleraine (ear acupuncture only)\n\nIf you would be interested in availing of this service please complete the following intake form. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:  \nDue to the yellow weather warning in place for high winds on Sunday\, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone Centra Run Together.  \nWe are extremely disappointed however the safety and welfare of our participants\, event staff\, supporters and marshals are our top priority\, and we believe this decision is in the best interests of everyone.   \nThank you to everyone who registered for the event\, helping to raise vital funds for Action Cancer. All tickets will be automatically transferred to a new date\, which we will announce in the coming weeks. Once the new date is confirmed\, if unable to attend\, we will be happy to issue a refund.   \n If you have already collected your t-shirts and running numbers\, please keep them in a safe place\, as they will still be valid for the rescheduled event. Pack collections are now closed at Action Cancer House.   \nWe will provide further updates as soon as possible and appreciate your understanding.
