EY Northern Ireland is proud to announce a new two-year charity partnership with Northern Ireland’s leading local cancer charity, Action Cancer.

The funds raised over the next two years will enable the charity to purchase new dermatoscopes, vital tools for enhancing their life-saving skin cancer detection service. This investment will also allow the charity to offer an additional 300 skin cancer detection appointments, ensuring more people can access this critical service. Available to anyone aged 18 and over with a concerning mole or lesion, these appointments provide timely and potentially life-saving assessments, making early detection and treatment possible.

Plans are in place to host a range of engaging activities, including static cycles, cake sales, and bucket collections.

To kickstart the partnership, EY employees took on a challenge to collectively cycle the 260-mile distance of the Causeway Coastal Route on a static bike placed in the reception of EY Northern Ireland’s Belfast office on Tuesday, 24th September.

This partnership launch coincides with EY’s annual ‘Giving Week,’ taking place from 23rd to 27th September. During this week, EY employees are encouraged to support a charity of their choice through volunteering, skills-sharing and donations.

I would like to extend a profound thank you to my EY Northern Ireland colleagues for getting involved to help raise awareness and vital funds for this fantastic charity.”

Gareth Kirk, CEO Action Cancer, added: “We are absolutely delighted to have been selected as EY’s charity partner for 2024-2026. The funds raised each year will ensure that, at Action Cancer, we can continue to provide our unique life-saving early detection, prevention and support services across our local communities. We are so fortunate to have EY as a corporate partner and would like to express our sincere appreciation to all the wonderful employees at EY who made the partnership happen and who have already become so committed to our cause. It is so gratifying and heartening to engage with EY, a leading global professional services organisation with such a strong social conscience, who are committed to investing time and resources into supporting a local charity and local people.”
