Mother’s Day Walk – Lurgan Park

Walk with her…Walk to remember her.

The Action Cancer Mother’s Day Walk is a fundraising event co-ordinated by the Lurgan Action Cancer Community Group. The walk will take place within the beautiful surrounds of Lurgan Park on Saturday 29th March and is a both an uplifting and tranquil experience. This is also a dog friendly walk so we encourage you to bring all members of your family.

Registration: £10 per adult (children under 16 free)

PLEASE NOTE: Online registration will end at 5pm on 27th March. You can of course register on the day of the walk from 11.30 am

Courtesy of Country Kitchen there will be refreshments provided for walkers once the walk is completed.

The walk begins at 12pm and will start from the Pavilion by the tennis courts (but people can register on the day from 11.00am) The walk will commence back at the Pavilion where all walkers will have the chance to a well deserved cuppa and cake!

All monies raised will go towards helping Action Cancer continue to offer its many services some of which take place locally through visits from Big Bus visits to Lurgan and the surrounding area and the complementary therapy services for children and adults affected by cancer that take place in Zion House in the town.

Supporting the Walk once again is Eleanor Hamilton, mum, sister, daughter; “I took part in the Mother’s Day Walk last year and it was a really uplifting experience. Mother’s Day can be a time of dread and sadness but I want it to be a time for remembrance, for celebrating the extraordinary women who were a very important part of my life. My niece and nephew also took part so that made it a real family affair as we don’t always have the opportunity to get together as we all live in different places. Even just being in the park which has been the backdrop to so many family gatherings brought so many precious memories flooding back.  It really was a morning of reflection and joy plus the tea and cake wasn’t too bad either!”.
